Cognite has signed a VAR (Value Added Reseller) agreement with Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation, a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, to resell Cognite Data Fusion® (CDF), an industrial data operations (DataOps) and contextualization platform that helps companies put raw data into real-world industrial context, enabling rapid application and solution creation at scale.
Yokogawa provides a wide range of solutions to the manufacturing industry, and has in recent years found that there is a need to create high added value by integrating information across IT and operational (OT) systems; both within and between manufacturing plants and across organizations and companies.
Efficient and detailed operational support will only be possible by presenting and analyzing information that is in completely different locations and formats, yet strongly related.
Cognite and Yokogawa together will provide high value-added solutions with CDF as the key technology in its industrial solutions.
CDF collects, integrates, and contextualizes information from mission-critical systems, management systems, control systems, and safety systems in the manufacturing industry, and streams this information to applications with low latency. In the past, it was necessary for each application to search, extract, and connect information from different systems, but CDF frees developers from these tasks and enables them to efficiently build highly flexible solutions.
Nori Tokusue, President of Cognite Japan, said, “The digital transformation (DX) of industry is accelerating at an unprecedented speed. Through this agreement, we will work together with Yokogawa Electric Corporation to boost DX in industry and contribute to strengthening corporate competitiveness and improving productivity and environmental sustainability.”
“We will take this opportunity to provide solutions that integrate information not only from within a customer's office or company, but also across multiple locations and systems scattered around the world, as well as solutions that involve multiple customers throughout the supply chain,” said Tetsuya Murai, CEO of Yokogawa Solution Service. “We will pursue new opportunities for value creation by building a System of Systems (SoS).”
Cognite has over 500 employees, including a large number of highly skilled IT professionals with knowledge and experience in industrial digitalization who are currently providing solutions for clients globally using Cognite Data Fusion®.
