Cognite has been recognized by the Red Dot Jury for its high design quality of work for the submission of InField, a responsive web application that enables field technicians to get continuously updated information from sensor data, 3D models, documents, and work orders. InField was recognized in the Brands and Communication category with over 6,992 creative projects from 50 countries that were entered into Red Dot, one of the world’s most respected design competitions.
InField helps address the challenges within the maintenance of industrial plants by putting information at technicians' fingertips, allowing them to access relevant data from multiple siloed source systems. Cognite InField can be deployed across all heavy asset-heavy industries, such as renewables, energy, and manufacturing.
InField has been co-created with end-users in a highly collaborative design and development process. It has proven to reduce time spent on preventive maintenance tasks by over 60%.
"I want to congratulate Cognite as a winner of the Red Dot Award on their success. By winning this distinction, they have proved that their work stands for high design quality. They have come out on top in a strong field of international participants thanks to their convincing performance and deserve to be proud of themselves and of their accomplishment," says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.
The Red Dot Award provided a platform to designers, agencies and companies from all over the globe for the evaluation of design. In line with the motto, “In search of good design and creativity,” the 24 international jurors assessed this year’s entries online, examining each piece of work and each brand individually and extensively. They paid special attention to the form, the idea and the impact. Ultimately, only those projects that convinced the experts in terms of their high design quality and creative achievement received a distinction.
