Cognite’s Industrial DataOps platform, Cognite Data Fusion®, to cut Arbaflame’s decision-making time by 50% through use of contextualized data.
Cognite today announced a long-term contract with Arbaflame, a world-leading biotech company, to expand Arbaflame’s data capabilities and support the company’s growth ambitions in renewable energy and biochemicals.
Arbaflame is using Cognite’s Industrial DataOps platform, Cognite Data Fusion®, to build a data foundation that will help cut the time its experts spend making sense of data by 50%. The new partnership will extend this effort, and with improved access to operational data, Arbaflame’s experts will be able to build applications and solutions with speed and at scale.
Arbaflame produces pellets from residual waste from sawmills practicing sustainable forestry. The pellets have similar characteristics as coal and can replace or be mixed with fossil fuel in coal-fired power plants, reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90%.
Arbaflame is working on several prospects in Europe and North America that are expected to come online over the next few years. To scale its offering, Arbaflame needed a technology partner that would help the company make its data accessible and trustworthy, and enlisted Cognite.
“From day one after we went live using Cognite Data Fusion, the data became much more accessible and manageable for the team, and we have saved a lot of time when doing analyses,” said Håvard Knappskog, Lead Automation Architect at Arbaflame. “Our engineers have been empowered to make better decisions through access to trustworthy data.”
With a live data pipeline and a contextualized data model in Cognite Data Fusion®, Arbaflame can set up data visualization and analytical models, optimize production and business ramp-up, and empower its employees to conduct ad hoc analyses to solve production issues without assistance from IT experts.
“We appreciate the long-term relationship now established with a leading sustainability-targeting company like Arbaflame to scale its digital ambitions and accelerate execution,” said Slimane Allab, Cognite’s senior vice president of Manufacturing. “Industrial DataOps is a critical success enabler for next-generation decision-making, resilience, sustainability, quality, and enhanced predictability. Partnering on digital journeys and enabling sustainability initiatives as part of companies’ business transformations is paramount to us.”
